Re: So, do gamerpoints really matter?
No. Steam has no such thing and that has an amazing online service, XBL's gamerpoints although a nice motivation to do extra tasks in games, is kinda silly to say one player is better than another because of how many points they have

To me it's like rep.
You've got the rep for how you are behaviour wise (the thing with the stars) and then it's gamerpoints - the higher, the better you are at games in theory.

It doesn't matter but I like what it leaves you to get out of the game which otherwise wouldn't have been done and you can see how pr0 people are

In theory if you have more G than one gamer then you're better, but then that's often not the case in practise.

Re: So, do gamerpoints really matter?
Buying Assassin's Creed 2 to increase your gamerscore, for example, is the wrong way to go about it. Which is exactly why 3 of my friends have already done this.
ZeBaron- Better Than James
